We have precedent for DRM making hundreds of games unplayable without resorting to cracks used for piracy. Denuvo has no such measures in place and basically you'll be put at the mercy of Konami to patch it out of Metal Gear Solid V The Phantom Pain (good luck with that one). Valve has continually said that there are measures in place for that. Steamworks wouldn't prevent me from playing my 1100 games in the event of a shutdown.
